Professional Service to the Community

Advisory Council Member with SITE:
Designed to help Wyoming’s low-income families create Sustainable Income Through Entrepreneurship. This project, funded by a grant to the Wyoming Women’s Business Center from the Wyoming Department of Family services, provides training, start-up assistance (including financial resources), mentoring services and marketing support to qualifying participants. Special emphasis is on art-based businesses.

Voluntary Advisory Council members provide recommendations for participant training. This includes review of the client’s application/needs assessment, and a telephone conference call with the client to discuss his or her goals, skill level, experience, etc. The Advisory Council members discuss potential training options for the client, giving specific details of resources and programs. Each Advisory Council member participates in approximately 5-8 client cases.

SITE Partners Include:

Wyoming Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, Wyoming Women’s Business Center, Wyoming Small Business Development Center, Wyoming Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, and Wyoming Business Council.
